Foundation instrument flying competencies.
Three modules, twelve examined subject blocks, 48 topics and 515 questions. Each module is divided into the subjects its paper actually draws on. Each subject reads straight through, with a diagram wherever a mechanism is easier drawn than described, and a question bank at the end of the subject rather than after every topic. Then a mock paper on the real clock, weighted question for question like the examination.
Built to be worked before you enrol. Your ATO course runs to a schedule and the eighteen-month window starts the day you sit your first paper — the understanding does not have to wait for either. Arrive fluent, and sit the papers sooner.
Foundation instrument flying competencies.
Departures, holdings, precision and non-precision approaches.
En-route flight, weather, flight planning and communications.
The BIR replaces the seven separate instrument rating papers with three combined papers, one per training module. Each paper draws on several subjects with a fixed number of questions and a fixed time allocation. Module 1 is taken first; Modules 2 and 3 may then be taken in either order. The pass mark is 75% of each paper, with no penalty marking.

Every topic in a subject sits on one page, in order, so the material reads as a chapter rather than as flashcards. Diagrams carry a fixed colour meaning: hazard, caution, reference, correct, navigation guidance.
The bank mixes every topic in that subject, which is how the paper asks them. Practise in sets of 10 or 25 or take the whole bank; anything below 75% names the topic to go back to.
The official number of questions per subject, in the official order, against the official clock, marked at 75% with a subject breakdown and a review of every wrong answer.
The eighteen-month window to pass all three papers starts when you sit the first one, and an ATO course runs to its own schedule. Reading, understanding and drilling the question banks is the part that can be done in advance, without a clock on it.
Holding entries, the transition layer, PBN minima lines, the icing bands: know them before the classroom rather than during it. The instruction time you pay for is then spent on the flying and on the questions you actually have.
Because the three mock papers here are weighted exactly like the real ones, you can see when you are consistently above 75% and book with confidence instead of waiting to be told you are ready.

No. This is study material for the BIR theoretical knowledge examinations. The examinations themselves are booked with your national authority, and the recommendation to sit them comes from your ATO.
No. The European Central Question Bank is confidential. These questions are written to the same learning objectives, in the same style, and weighted the same way, so they test what the papers test.
Under FCL.025(c) a BIR theoretical knowledge pass has unlimited duration, unlike the IR pass which expires after 36 months. The commonly applied practical limits — four attempts per module, six sittings, eighteen months from the first attempt — are set by your national authority; confirm them with the authority you will sit under.
Your account stays; the course locks. You can buy another 12 months at any time, and your progress is still there when you do.
